The art of Hosting Empty
PostSubject: The art of Hosting   The art of Hosting EmptySat 27 Dec 2008, 11:27 pm

Well the question is CONSTANTLY been asked of me lately "how do I host", so to save me some time, making this. Yes I could be a lazy mofo and copy this from some other clan site or something but f*** it, I'll do it raw.

1. Hit the Start button and go to "Run", a little window should appear.

2. Now type in "CMD" and a big black box should appear.

3. In this black box type in "IPCONFIG", and a list should appear.

4. Keep the black box open and open up IE. From the black box type the "DEFAULT" IP address into your web browser.

5. It will ask for a username and password. My default username and pass were "admin" but might not work for you. If you don't know yours, look for your comp type on this list http://www.anameless.com/blog/default-passwords.html . If that still doesn' work, ask your parents or look on the rooter; they might have writen it on there.

6. When the screen is done loading go to the "Games" tab

7. "Application" columb, doesn't matter what you put here.

8. "Start" columb, put 1626 in here

9. "End" columb, put 1627 in here

10. "Protocal" columb, don't know what happens with this, but make sure it is set on BOTH just in case.

11. "IP Address" columb, you'll see a majority of your IP already listed but missing some letters at the end. Open the black box from before and look at "IP Address", it will be same numbers as "Default" IP but with some added at the end. Copy these missing numbers and put them in the missing spots in columb.

12. Click the "Enable" box to the right of the row you just did, then save.

13. Open up SFO and go to the options menus and go to "Network".

14. Make sure in the "USE PORT" row the numbers are 1626 then 1627.

15. In the "LOCAL IP" row, make sure that your WHOLE IP is typed in there correctly. Not your Default, but actual IP Address.

16. FINALLY in the "PUBLIC IP" row, just type auto. This is so the admins won't know your real IP and won't hack your computer.

*DEEP BREATH* I think that is it. Get stuck on anything I'll try to provie more help.
